POSTER YOURSELF!
Although Glogster has existed for awhile, the new educational version has just been released and is very easy to use for teachers and students. Now teachers can create accounts for themselves and their students with no email accounts necessary, making glogster available for teachers and students at any level.
What is Glogster you ask? Simply – it is a way to make an interactive poster online using hundreds of graphical elements already included on the website or by uploading your own images and designs. But, there’s more! Users can not only add images and text. You can also add video, audio, songs and links. Videos can be uploaded, linked from YouTube, or recorded directly into Glogster using your computer’s webcam and microphone. Audio can also be recorded right in Glogster and pictures can be snapped using Glogster’s photo tool.
The possibilities are pretty much endless and the only way to really get a grasp on the power of what Glogster can do is to see some examples. The one below is a nice example of what can be done with graphics and links. For more examples, visit http://www.glogster.com/category/School/.
WARNING: Going to glogster.com without the /edu at the end will take you to the normal Glogster site open to the whole world. You can browse through already created blogs there and you may come accross some less than school-appropriate things. Please just be sure to go to the /edu version when you use it with students!
