Zinio – The World’s Largest Newsstand
Zinio is more than a mobile reading application. We’ve spent the last decade creating the digital editions of the magazines you love, delivering the exact same material you get in print‚ plus exclusive features like video, audio and live links, on your iPad, iPhone, desktop and laptop.
I have never heard of Zinio till I read your blog post and I can take major advantage of this website. It is very convenient to have digital editions of the world’s news just at our fingertips. Technology has exploded over the last decade and we are fortunate enough to be able to experience it. I’m attending University of South Alabama and taking a summer class that revolves around the virtual world of technology and this website could improve my research. I will use Zinio for references now that I know the wonderful information at my disposal.
I am an EDM 310 student at the University of South Alabama and have been assigned to comment on your blog page. I must say that your blog has awesome graphics and am very impressed with its presentation. I have never heard of Zinio but will definitely click on the links you have listed and learn more. It seems like you have a true desire for the world of technological learning and I am glad. It’s people like you that keep the education system growing and expanding!
Hi Ms. Krause,
My name is Mary Anderson and I am an EDM 310 student at The University of South Alabama. I have been assigned your blog to read as part of my C4T (comments for teachers) project in this class.
We spend weeks commenting and reading many different blogs, viewing videos of presentations or lectures and a lot of them are usually accompanied by a link here or there to view the technology you’re learning about and I’m happy to say that FINALLY I have a link to something that I actually know about and have used. I discovered Zinio.com while in the ATL airport because my fiance’, we’ll refer to him as “Mr. Finance”, came back from a mission I sent him on 90% empty handed. See, we missed our flight and had to wait 2.5 hrs for the next one, “I need a rootbeer, M&Ms (the biggest bag you can find) and a magazine, The Knot, Cosmo, something to keep me from being bored to death.” I said. 30 minutes later he strolls back with all but the mags!!!! Then proceeds the complaining about how $8.50 for a magazine was atrocious. Long story short, I found Zinio and spent more than $8.50 but I had several issues of 2 magazines that were easily accessible via my laptop and iPhone.
Thanks and I enjoyed being able to share my story about Zinio!!
Please feel free to visit my blog to see the summary of my take on your blog anytime after midnight on here 7/4.
I really enjoyed reading your blog. I fallowed the link to zinio and read a couple of articles. I Think this is a great multimedia learning device because so students who need to read articles but would rather watch a video than read they can do this on the zinio site. thank you so much for sharing this with everyone who reads your blog.
Hi Ms. Krause,
I am a student in EDM 310 at the University of South Alabama where I am majoring in Elementary Education. I have been assigned to comment on your blog this week for our “comments for teachers” assignment. I will be summarizing your post as well as my comment for my assignment. Our class blog can be found here, and my blog can be found here.
I had never heard of Zinio before reading your post, so I followed the link you provided to their website to check it out. I think it is awesome that people can have magazines sent straight to their computer or tablet through the internet. There are so many more possibilities for magazines. They are no longer limited to just printed pages. There can be video and audio to go along with it to make it more interactive. This application could be put to good use in a classroom as well for educational magazines. Thank you for sharing this information!
I seem to have completely forgotten to include the links to the class blog and my own blog above! Our class blog can be found here, and my blog can be found here.
